Barcelona style...

Having only returned from a wee trip to Barcelona earlier last week, to visit one of our unique brands Malahierba - now fully settled in their new store/showroom (on our last visit they had literally just moved in and were still decorating!)

AW14 malahierba collection

Managed to fit in a little bit of time to chill out too - even though I'm not great with heights I'm glad I was brave enough to go on the big wheel - the views were amazing, although the the one looking down still makes me feel dizzy!

After that a little light refreshment and a tasty bocata was definitely required.

So we are excited that their AW14 collection has just arrived in-store this week!  The stand out pieces for me are this grey belted tunic dress and the mixed fabric print top, but remember stock is limited, so don't miss out.

Get your coat...

This autumn at Eden we have a great selection of coats and jackets, with something to suit all tastes -

This everyday puffa style jacket from B Young is lightweight, practical (a jacket with a hood!) and cosy.  The print gives interest and keeps you on trend too!

This monochrome Coat by B young is warm and stylish at the same time!  Cosy brushed feel to fabric in this bold check style design

The dressy Kling coat has a lovely A-line shape and the bold red colour will bright up the grey skies and cold days of autumn.

This gorgeous coat has an all over leopard print in blue tones instead of more neutral colours for a twist on this classic print.  Step out into the cold with style.

Take inspiration from the catwalk with this oversized belted coat from Coster Copenhagen.

This Desigual coat is strikingly beautiful inside and out! The lining on this coat is amazing - check it out here! The coat is also very warm...

These 100% waterproof  styles from Protected Species will keep you warm and dry, whatever the weather decides to do this season.

Which is your favourite?

July at Eden ...

Apologies for the lack of blog posts recently... but it's been a busy month!  Firstly Eden's summer SALE kicked off this month along with Independent Retailer Month.

Independent Retailer Month is a UK wide campaign which runs annually throughout July to highlight the important role that smaller, local, independent retailers play in the communities they serve, the local economy they contribute to and in the retail sector as a whole.

For the month of July - Eden is offering you the opportunity to sign up to our Independent rewards - simply register in-store and for every £10 spent in July you will receive a £1 voucher to spend during the month of August (ie spend £150 = £15 voucher)

To find out more about the campaign and the other local independents supporting #shopping #indiemonth - have a look at Independent Retail Month website, show your support & keep shopping indie (bag a sale bargain too!) x

Sports Luxe v Spectator Chic

Here's our new window -

As there's no escaping the fact that 2014 is definitely the "summer of sport" with major sporting events happening this year including The World Cup and Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow plus Wimbledon and events in the horse-racing calendar including Musselburgh ladies day and Royal Ascot.

Our window has two different looks -

Blue Tunic dress by Blend

Mascha sunglasses by Selected Femme

Denim jacket by Blend

Heartbeat dress by B Young

Sunny blazer by Selected Femme

Valentine shoes by Kling

I would definitely go for the more casual look myself but have to admit that I love this stylish video from Royal Ascot showing the dress codes required for race-goers complimented by some amazing millinery too!

Don't forget that here in Stockbridge we also have Brodie's Champions of Tennis - you can check out their website here for info/tickets -   so far as I am aware there is not a dress code here as such, so the question is...
Sports Luxe or Spectator Chic?

City break wardrobe

(New York) City break wardrobe
I have been putting together a couple of outfits for a city break, as I have been recently contacted by Kendra Thornton, a travel expert as part of her #fashionchallenge.

New York City Bound!
I am so excited  that my upcoming trip is all I can talk about or think about. The only slight problem I see on my otherwise bright horizon is my limited clothes choices. As a mom of 3 kids, my wardrobe is more suburban frumpy than city chic. It is just that clothes have not always been a priority. I know that with a little help from some fashion experts and those in the know, I can get my wardrobe in shape in time for my trip. To find that help, I have created the Kendra Fashion Challenge! I’ll be visiting New York City to spend a couple nights in one of the cities best hotels, The Standard High Line Hotel.
While visiting the city, we have a special outing planned. At the corner of 13th and Washington Streets, sits the public Standard Plaza. There is no other square quite like it in lower Manhattan. In the winter months, cold weather lovers can enjoy the skating rink at this square and enjoy a warm snack at Alpine Kaffeeklatsch. At all times of the year, this square plays host to some of the best large art installations, featuring such artists as Erwin Wurm, Kaws and Kenny Scharf. Snacks. In the summer months, snacks are created from fresh produce from Locusts Farms in upstate New York along with a variety of gelatos and sorbets made there. It is going to be an exciting afternoon and evening.
I know that to enjoy my time at Standard Plaza I need to look my best in a new outfit put together during my challenge. Planning this trip faced some other challenges. When a group travels to a new city like my friends and I, everyone has their own list of “must see” places. I used Gogobot to help determine, which places to see and things to do were the highest rated. This made creating the perfect itinerary that suited everyone a snap. I know that walking around the city or visiting a luxurious hotel such as the Standard High Line Hotel will be a lot more enjoyable with a new outfit and great look.

She is looking for some style inspiration as she is off on her travels to stay at The Standard High Line Hotel in New York for a few days.

Here are some ideas as to what I would pack in the suitcase!

This cool 100% fine cotton shirt by BYoung will look great with just about anything, worn loose over a simple camisole top

and teamed with these funky kaleidoscope patterned pants by Selected Femme

I also love this angelfish printed dress by Spanish design duo Malahierba

with this zip front denim jacket by Blend (which works with pretty much anything)

and to finish these looks try these Mascha avaitor style sunglasses also by Selected Femme

For going out I have chosen this amazing kimono style jacket again by Malahierba

and worn with this draped jersey maxi dress by Selected Femme

and to complete this outfit a lightning clutch bag from Compania Fantastica!

Here's to a fantastic trip!
